Meet Mrs. Peura I received my Bachelors degree in English/Communications in 2008 from Emmanuel College. I was very involved with the Big Sister Organization and mentored a student at an elementary School in Boston. We often read stories together and took pictures around the school. After just a few months, the school staff noticed a drastic change in my "little sister's" behavior and effort in school. This interaction inspired me to become a teacher.
I have always been passionate about literacy. So, I walked across the street and applied to the School Library program at Simmons College. In 201o, I graduated from simmons with a Masters in Library Science (MLS). During my time there, I student taught at the Williams School (k-5th) in Newton, MA. I was also a Long-Term Subsitute Librarian for the Boston Latin School (7th-12th).
When I am not reading, I enjoy spending time with my family. My son, Tommy, keeps us very busy! I also like to be active outdoors (paddle boarding, kayaking, gardening, hiking, etc.) and do arts & crafts.
