Students in 1st - 6th grade have been learning about being safe online. Here are some topics we have been discussing:
1st-2nd grade: Ask an adult before using the computer (or other device); Do not talk to people you do not know online; Do not give personal or private information online (full name, address, school, picture, etc.); Tell a trusted adult if anything online makes you feel scared, sad, or uncomfortable.
3rd-6th grade: The difference between private/personal information (full name, address, school, picture, etc.) vs. general information (hobbies, pets name, favorites), digital footprints, viruses & scams, and strong passwords.
